MOST IV — grant for professional trips and internships for artists from Belarus

About the programme
This is an opportunity to legally travel to Europe, obtain a visa and funding for a professional trip related to art, culture, education or research in a professional environment. The programme focuses on offline presence and real immersion in the European cultural context.

Who is the programme suitable for
MOST IV is designed for those who want to be part of the European cultural and educational infrastructure not remotely, but through personal presence. Such an experience is difficult to gain online — it helps to better understand how the art and culture system in Europe works and where to go next.
At the same time, it is not just about working on a specific project. The programme also supports training, professional orientation and broadening one’s horizons.

Training and professional development
The programme is suitable for training and professional development. This may include participation in courses, training sessions, workshops, summer schools, professional programmes or internships. The format of the training may vary, but the key is that it must be related to your professional practice. Such trips focus on acquiring knowledge and skills, as well as understanding how the European professional environment works from the inside.

Preparation for future projects
The programme is also suitable for preparatory trips. For example, if you are planning an exhibition, residency or collaboration in Europe. In this case, the trip may include meetings with venues and curators, exploring spaces, archives or collections, and establishing professional contacts.

Travel dates and format
The programme runs from October 2024 to spring 2027. The duration of the trip can be from 3 to 90 days. It can take place in one or more European Union countries. The format is chosen individually — from a short visit to a longer stay related to training or an internship.

What the grant covers
The grant covers the main costs of the trip — travel, accommodation and meals (in the form of a daily allowance), travel within the country, participation in professional and educational events, visa costs and medical insurance. This makes trips possible that are often postponed due to lack of funds.

How much can you expect to receive?
The amount of the grant depends on the duration of the trip, the destination country and the planned expenses. On average, the total amount of support for one participant is up to €3,000.
Funding is paid in two stages80% of the amount is transferred before the trip begins, and the remaining 20% is transferred after the trip is completed and the report is submitted.

What you need to apply
Before applying, it is important to consider several conditions.
Firstly, the applicant must have a host organisation in the EU — a museum, gallery, cultural institution, educational programme, festival or other organisation. The host organisation must provide an invitation or confirmation letter specifying the format and dates of the trip.
In addition, you must formulate the objectives of the trip in advance and prepare a preliminary plan of activities and a budget.

Application deadlines and selection process
Applications must be submitted at least three months before the start of the trip. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, with no fixed deadlines. Applications are submitted online, and processing usually takes about one month.

Who is not eligible for the programme
? MOST IV is aimed exclusively at Belarusian citizens. For artists and cultural professionals from other countries, there is the pan-European programme Culture Moves Europe — a grant for individual mobility and artistic exchange in Europe, which operates on a similar basis and covers all EU countries.

Where to apply
Applications must be submitted via the Goethe-Institut’s official online portal. You must first register in the system. Once you have logged in, you will see the MOST IV programme page with a full description of the conditions and the application form. All rules and instructions are available on the portal.
