TERAVARNA — international competitions, solo online exhibitions and offline exhibitions in Europe and the USA
The platform combines several formats of participation — from regular online competitions to physical exhibitions and personal virtual expositions. This is not a one-off open call, but a permanent system in which artists can build their own strategy of presence: competitions, digital showcases, participation in offline shows.
TERAVARNA is based in Los Angeles and works with an international audience. The project
was previously known as Art Show International Gallery. Today, it is a commercial competition and exhibition platform with regular selection cycles and an annual prize system.
Online competitions with a jury
The platform holds themed and open competitions throughout the year. Entries are submitted in digital format, undergo expert selection, and then lists of winners and finalists are compiled. Cash prizes and publications are provided. The size of the prize fund depends on the number of entries.
Physical exhibitions
Some competition programmes conclude with offline exhibitions in the United States or Europe. Participation in such exhibitions is only possible after passing the jury selection process. This is not a rental of exhibition space, but the result of a competitive selection process.
Personal virtual exhibitions
A separate format is the launch of a personal online exhibition. The process is two-stage: first, an application is submitted (non-refundable fee in USD), then, upon approval, one of the paid tariffs (annual or lifetime) is selected. The exhibition is hosted on the platform’s website and accompanied by digital promotion.
Annual prize and awards
The Artist of the Year is selected from among the participants in solo exhibitions, with a prize of up to USD 1,000. There are also categories for second place, awards for merit and talent, and finalists. In the event of multiple winners, the amounts may be distributed proportionally. Payments are made via PayPal.
Who is the platform suitable for
The platform can be useful for artists who regularly work with competition formats, are building an international digital portfolio, or want to increase their online visibility through SEO and marketing tools. For artists from countries with limited exhibition infrastructure, it can be an additional channel for international presence.
However, the format does not apply to institutional grants, museum programmes or independent curatorial platforms. Participation should be considered as a promotional tool within a commercial competition model.
What to consider before applying
Before participating, it is important to note that the platform operates on a commercial competitive model.
Organisational fees are non-refundable, and participation in a personal exhibition requires the subsequent selection of a paid tariff.
The size of the cash prize depends on the total number of applications for the year; if there are several winners, the amount may be distributed proportionally.
If you are considering participation as part of your professional strategy, it makes sense to assess whether you need a digital exhibition format, whether SEO visibility of your profile is important, and
whether you plan to work with competitive platforms on a regular basis.
TERAVARNA can be a marketing and digital presence tool, but it does not replace grant programmes, institutional exhibitions or curatorial projects. The optimal approach is to view it as one element of a broader international strategy.
