VV Foundation — Director of PAiR International Residency (Latvia)

A vacancy has opened in Pavilosta, Latvia, for the Director of the PAiR residency programme, a space working with contemporary art in the format of an international artist residency.
The programme is part of the VV Foundation, an organisation that supports contemporary art through residencies, exhibitions and public formats.

What does this role entail
It is not only about management, but also about shaping the programme’s content. The Programme Director:
determines the strategy and curatorial logic of the residency,
accompanies artists during their stay,
organises public events and meetings,
builds international partnerships, and
is responsible for operational sustainability, communications, and the budget.

Who the programme is looking for
Experience in art management, curating or residency management is expected. It is important to feel confident in the field of contemporary art and understand how international cultural processes work.
English is mandatory. Latvian is an advantage, but not a barrier.
The job requires presence in Pavilosta, a small coastal town where the residency becomes not only a professional platform but also part of the local landscape.

The conditions include a gross annual salary of €21,600–30,000, work in a professional environment with an international network of contacts, and space to develop your own management and curatorial practice.
The position is intended for professionals who already understand how the art ecosystem functions, have experience managing cultural projects, and are ready to take on strategic responsibility rather than only operational tasks.
