Wspieram.to — what this Polish crowdfunding platform is and how to pick a funding format

Wspieram.to calls itself “the Polish Kickstarter” — and offers even more format choices.
The campaign creator picks one of two models — all-or-nothing, or keep whatever you collect.
The second option costs a bit more in fees, but it never actually fails.
Backing a project works with almost any payment method, including cards and transfers from abroad.

Two funding formats — the creator’s choice
Wspieram.to offers two funding formats, and the creator picks whichever suits their project.
In the “all-or-nothing” format, only a creator who reaches exactly 100% of the goal gets paid.
Fall short by even a fraction of a percent, and every contribution goes back to backers.
In the “keep what you collect” format, though, a campaign always ends in success, however much it raises.
That second format costs the creator a bit more — its fee runs a percentage point higher.

The fee is 8.5–9.5%, plus a payment charge
For a successful all-or-nothing campaign the platform takes 8.5%; for the flexible format, 9.5%.
On top of that comes a 2.5% fee from the payment operator, Tpay.
But if a campaign fails, the platform itself absorbs that payment fee.
So on failure, neither the backer nor the creator loses anything extra.
Funds reach the creator within 14 business days of a successful campaign.

A reward is required either way
In both formats, the creator commits to sending backers the rewards they promised.
A pure donation with no reward attached isn’t a format the platform offers at all.
The minimum campaign goal is 500 zloty (about €115) — there’s little point going lower.
The minimum pledge, meanwhile, is just 1 zloty (about €0.23), unless the creator sets it higher.
So the barrier to backing something stays symbolic, whatever the campaign’s goal.

Campaigns are reviewed, but not all of them pass
Every campaign submission goes through the platform’s moderation before it goes live.
By the platform’s own figures, around 75% of submitted projects pass review successfully.
The rest are rejected when a submission doesn’t meet the platform’s rules.
A rejection isn’t final, though — a creator can refine the idea and resubmit it.
A campaign always runs to its full stated deadline and can’t close early, even after passing its goal.

The categories go well beyond creative projects
The official category list on Wspieram.to is far wider than the usual art-crowdfunding set.
It covers music, publishing, film, theatre and dance, design, comics and games.
There’s also charity, environmental causes, sport, education and support for specific people in need.
The platform separately partners with a major charity, Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy.
For those partner non-profit campaigns, the platform waives its fee entirely, so the full amount goes straight to the cause.

Who it suits especially
Good fit if: you want a choice between a strict and a flexible funding model, not just one option.
Also a good fit for non-profit projects that fit the platform’s charity partnership.
May not suit you if: you’re not willing to promise backers a reward of any kind.
In that case, look for a pure-donation format instead — this platform simply doesn’t offer one.
