Upė Foundation Curatorial Fellowship — a paid curatorial position in London for up to 18 months

Upė Foundation Curatorial Fellowship is a programme created by Upė Foundation in partnership with Camden Art Centre in London. It offers a paid Assistant Curator position for an emerging curator connected to the Baltic region. The contract is for 12 months, with the possibility of a 6-month extension, and requires relocation to London, United Kingdom.
What the programme offers
The selected curator will join the exhibition team at Camden Art Centre in a full-time paid position. The programme includes an annual salary of £30,960, structured professional development, collaboration with international artists, involvement in exhibitions, residencies, publications, and public programmes, as well as the opportunity to develop personal research interests within one of the United Kingdom’s most respected contemporary art institutions.
What the position involves
The Assistant Curator will work closely with the curatorial team and the Head of Exhibitions, contributing to the development and delivery of the institution’s exhibition programme. Responsibilities include:
— assisting with exhibitions, public programmes, and events;
— conducting research and preparing exhibition materials;
— collaborating with artists, galleries, partners, designers, and project contributors;
— supporting publications, documentation, exhibition installation, and logistics;
— participating in professional discussions while sharing research perspectives from the Baltic States and Central and Eastern Europe.
Who can apply
The programme is intended for emerging curators with experience in independent or institutional projects. Applicants should hold a degree in curating, art history, visual culture, or a related discipline, and demonstrate a strong connection to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, or their diasporas. Candidates must also already have the right to work in the United Kingdom or be eligible for one of the applicable UK work visa routes.
